Explore the art of etching over 4 evenings. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced printmaker, this class is designed to spark curiosity and build confidence with line, tone, and creative experimentation.
We will be:
Starting with the fundamentals of line etching, then building up to tonal techniques
Exploring mark making using a range of stop out methods and tools
Designing and building your own unique etched plates
Inking and printing from your plates, learning how pressure, ink consistency, and paper choice shape the final image
Sharing progress, ideas, and encouragement in a relaxed, friendly environment
All materials are provided but bring your ideas and enthusiasm.
Led by Jenny McCabe, an experienced and engaging tutor, the workshop celebrates playful experimentation, “happy accidents,” and the joy of learning through doing. By the end, you’ll leave not only with your own handmade plates and a small edition of prints, but also brimming with ideas and inspiration for your next creative adventures.
